Further explorations towards deconstructing a painting

Partition, Oil on canvas and wood [ 127cm x 54cm ]

Two lengths of wood became the central piece which was then framed with the crushed canvas i.e. the canvas frames the wood, as a sort of reversal of the traditional painting. It was then prepared as a traditional canvas would be with rabbit-skin glue and gesso ground, and finally painted using oils mixed with chalk powder.
Lastly, it was cut into two pieces using a handsaw and hung as a diptych.
