Open Studio

Usually careful to maintain a quiet isolation in the studio, I changed my habit to paint the walls (in oils) of this art center gallery during opening hours as the public walked around the space. Instead of an exhibition opening, at the end of the 4 weeks, we had a "closing". The walls were scraped clean and re-painted white the following day.

In those days, I never photographed the work I did. These images are taken from a few snaps someone gave me some time after the show.

Seems the gallery administrators weren't too impressed, as a proposal for a show many years later in the same gallery was met with a blank refusal.
