Might it be possible to make a type of celtic scroll instance that frees itself of the stereotypical layers of cliché and kitsch? And yet more, how about trying to give it a curvilinear, almost anatomical aspect? To even make it sexy?

It´s an odd idea I agree. In my defense, I´d suggest it due to many years outside the country, but always underlined as an Irish artist. I´d look at the work I was doing and think ¨but you´d never think any of this stuff was made by an Irish person¨, and so that´d lead me to the consideration of our national visual clichés and wondering if I should give it a go?

Actually a celtic scroll already does possess a languid suggestivity about it. I decided to use an un-Irish blue though to avoid colour traps such a paddy green, orange, earthy umber etc.
