Deeply shocked by the vastness and misery of Bombay (now Mumbai) slums on my first journey to India.
On one occasion I saw a young mother who was so destitute she had wrapped her naked baby in newspaper. She wasn't begging, and just passed me by without paying any attention.
Although not based on that scene, this standalone scuplture was one of the first works completed on my return.
